As the days grow shorter, the weather setting in chill and grey, each day seems ever more full. It's not just the extra work of hauling wood and lighting the fire each night, or trying to get washing dry on days devoid of sunlight and warmth. There are school book fairs, parents interviews, and early finishing. There are also added activities, with my miss visiting cub scouts for the first time with her cousin (both had a ball and were riotous in their enthusiasm afterwards!).
So this week with my cold improved, yet lingering, I can boast only short stolen moments of random doodling. Each day seems to disappear with me barely started.
Still, there are plenty of precious moments to treasure amongst all the chaos.
Last night in a short game of scrabble, I was beaten by my young miss, 113 to 102. Adding just one letter my miss created two new words, nabbing a double word score for both and scoring 40 points. I've never been more stoked to be beaten.
